When films and video games successfully tell a rich and entertaining story it can seem effortless, as if the images and ideas just snapped into place. But, look back to beginning of those projects and you will likely see mountains of pre-visualization storyboards and keyframes drawn to show composition, style, and tone. The goal is to work out all the possible issues in a quick and unencumbered process that lets creativity take center stage.

Below are several storyboards that Koen have completed over the years. Some of them are simple pencil renderings, while others are more defined using grayscale, or even color. It really depends on the needs of the project. But, no matter what, his goal is always to help tell a story in the clearest way possible.
